After getting knocked out of the UEFA Champions League last week, news is emerging about what’s next for Manchester City’s star player, Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese midfielder nearly left last year but decided to stick with Pep Guardiola and the team for this season.

A new report from Spain indicates that Silva is really leaning towards leaving Manchester City this summer, and it seems like FC Barcelona is where he’d like to go. However, if the Catalan side want the veteran playmaker, they’ll need to sell a key player.

Cadena SER reports that if Barcelona want to sign Bernardo Silva, the club must sell Frenkie De Jong. With family in Barcelona, the 2023 UEFA Champions League winner reportedly prioritizes the Blaugrana team and La Liga.

Nonetheless, the Catalan side faces competition, especially from Paris Saint Germain. On the Tot Costa program of Catalunya Ràdio, journalist Oriol Domènech recently stated that the French club already tried to sign him last season and will try again this summer.

The key may be in the hands of Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who has a good relationship with sporting advisor Luis Campos.
