Just over 24 hours from the 2024 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints have a new roster hole. Unfortunately, the move made a weakness of their offense even more prominent.

Saints offensive lineman James Hurst announced his retirement Wednesday.

New Orleans has been widely expected to go offensive tackle in round one, and now, their OL needs even more help. Hurst was projected to start on the inside of their line. He even has experience at tackle for the Saints as well.

Check out Hurst's entire Instagram post below.

For the Saints, they now have to take a hard look at taking an offensive lineman with both of their top 50 picks.

As of right now, Cesar Ruiz and Erik McCoy are the only two "for sure" pieces of their OL for next season. Ryan Ramczyk's health is still cloudy, and it's  unknown if his NFL career is over or not.

Additionally, New Orleans will need to add at least one more impactful free agent offensive lineman after the draft concludes. A veteran free agent may be able to grab a starting spot.
