‘Bold’ Trade Proposal Sends Bradley Beal To Heat, Terry Rozier, Duncan Robinson, Josh Richardson To Suns

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Heat and Suns:

Miami Heat Receive: SG Bradley Beal

Phoenix Suns Receive: PG Terry Rozier, F Duncan Robinson, G/F Josh Richardson, 2026 second-round pick (via Los Angeles Lakers)

Despite having Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Suns got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Heat are down 3-1 to the Boston Celtics. 

Beal averaged 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 51.3% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 81.3% from the free-throw line. 

Beal has a no-trade clause in his contract. He’ll make $50.2 million next season and $53.7 million in 2025-26.

The Heat tried to acquire Beal last summer and Beal was willing to waive his no-trade clause to land in Miami. 

“Despite that, the Miami Heat stand out as a potential trade partner, especially since the Heat finished the regular season ranked only 21st overall in offensive rating and could use Beal’s scoring and playmaking,” Swartz wrote. “Beal would join a core of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and others without Miami giving up any future first-round picks.”

Beal averaged 16.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the Suns-Timberwolves series while shooting 44.1% from the floor, 43.5% from 3 and 80.0% from the free-throw line. He struggled on defense trying to defend Minnesota star Anthony Edwards. 

“For Phoenix, this would be a way of getting off Beal’s contract while slightly trimming the payroll (roughly $2.8 million in savings) and adding three starters/rotation players around Durant and Booker,” Swartz wrote. “Rozier (19.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 36.3 percent from three) could slide into Beal’s starting backcourt spot while making less than half as much money, and Robinson (12.9 points, 39.5 percent shooting from three) would help keep the floor spread for the stars to operate.

“This trade would require Beal’s blessing since he possesses a no-trade clause, and Richardson would need to pick up his $3.0 million player option for next season.”

Beal, who turns 31 in June, has career averages of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists with the Washington Wizards and Suns.
