What to do with the outfield? That's the question Cleveland Guardians fans and the front office are asking themselves as they look ahead to 2024.

The Guardians have plenty of players for the three spots, but only Steven Kwan has established him as part of the future there. This could cause the front office to look elsewhere for help.

One player who should still be in the mix next season is Will Brennan and he still has a lot to show.

Brennan started his MLB career on a great note hitting .357 with an OPS of .900 through his first 11 games in 2022. This made fans excited about what he could do during a full season.

2023 was filled with some ups and downs for Brennan as he looked for his swing. He finished the season with a slash line of .266/.299/.356 and a wRC+ of 81 in 138 games. Those aren't terrible numbers, but fans were probably expecting a little more.

There's one stat we can look at that shows the potential Brennan could still be a good, or even great, offensive player. He finished with an xBA of .282 which falls in the 89th percentile, per Baseball Savant

This is the same percentile rank as some of the game's most dangerous hitters such as Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr.. Brennan's xBA was also better than players such as Julio Rodriguez, Austin Riley, and Mike Trout.

Expected batting average "is a Statcast metric that measures the likelihood that a batted ball will become a hit." We can take this statistic and be excited about the potential that Brennan still has as a Big League hitter.

It can be difficult for a player to watch themselves put the bat on the ball but not see any results. Brennan has a great mental view of the game and wrapped up his thought process perfectly after a Guardians win over the Detroit Tigers in mid-August.

"You try not to fall in love with results and fall in love with the process," Brennan said.
