Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: WR Brian Thomas Jr., LSU
USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders' wide receiver corps could look very different in a couple years and perhaps even before then.

It's time for the organization to start securing receivers for the long haul, and that could start as soon as this year's NFL Draft.

With the Raiders picking at No. 13 this year, it's very likely that Louisiana State wide receiver Malik Nabers will already be off the board. But there's another LSU receiver who made waves in 2023 that Las Vegas could consider.

Brian Thomas Jr. may have been the second-best wide receiver on his team this past season, but he was still one of the best at his position in the entire country.

Thomas burst onto the scene in what was his third season with the Tigers, totaling 1,177 receiving yards and an FBS-best 17 touchdowns in 13 games. He was named to the All-SEC Second Team for his efforts. He was also named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press.

Thomas and Nabers were able to prosper this season in large part to the play of their quarterback and the league's 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, Jayden Daniels. The three of them helped lead LSU to a 10-3 record.

The prospect concluded his career with LSU with 1,897 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns. Thomas entered LSU as a four-star recruit and was a dual-sport athlete at Walker High School in Louisiana. His talents as a basketball star led to a number of Division I offers for hoops as well.

Thomas stands out with his height (6-foot-4) and his leaping ability and who also excels through his speed.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
