After a quiet first few days following LSU spring football, coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers are finally starting to make some noise as far as their roster is concerned. Earlier today, the purple and gold become a program to watch for former Michigan State defensive lineman and big-time transfer portal target Simeon Barrow.

Michigan State defensive lineman becoming a transfer portal target to keep an eye on for LSU football

Better late than never, right?

It’s been a fairly calm offseason for coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers as far as transfer portal moves go, particularly when it comes to the defensive interior. The interesting part about it is the fact that the coaching staff hasn’t been quiet about their concerns about their defensive lineman group.

It hasn’t necessarily been due to a lack of overall skill, but the depth is practically non-existent – for now.

Earlier today, LSU began to trend in a very positive direction with former Michigan State defensive lineman Simeon Barrow, immediately making him a must-have transfer portal target for the purple and gold.

Barrow, a 6-foot-3, 296-pound defensive lineman out of Grovetown, GA, has turned himself into a fantastic veteran presence over the past four seasons in a challenging Big Ten conference. Having recorded 110 tackles, 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defended, he’s been incredibly consistent and can impact a ball game in multiple aspects.

Notably, he’s already sounding like a transfer portal target who will look to make a decision sooner rather than later. This is especially good news considering the purple and gold are expected to host him later this week on Sunday, April 21.

According to 247Sports, Simeon Barrow joined the Spartan football program as a three-star out of high school and currently ranks No. 9 among available interior defenders this spring.
